One of the first things I wanted to do when I got selected to be a Paddle UK #ShePaddles Ambassador for this year was to help those on my own patch, Hertfordshire, to get paddling. So I’m going to do what I can to promote Places to Paddle within Hertfordshire – firstly looking at providers and centres where lessons are offered as I’m a firm believer that the first step into paddling safely, should be to have a lesson. So here goes… starting, because it’s nearest to me, with Stanborough Lakes Watersports Centre.

– they run a wide range of group and private instructed sessions for newbies and for the more competent paddlers
– this season they’re starting a Wednesday night Paddle Club for experienced paddlers (16+) so you can paddle on lake independently following an induction
